Mgoun massif Hikking

The M’Goun Massif, nestled between Morocco's central plains and the Sahara Desert, features towering rounded peaks, vast rock formations, and spires shaped by mud, all standing sentinel over expansive valleys and plateaus with sparse vegetation.

Carved by rivers and canyons, the terrain offers a variety of trail challenges, including a traverse across M’Goun, characterized by prolonged descents, abrupt climbs, and a day spent navigating a water-filled canyon.

During the summer, the nomadic Ait Atta tribes herd their livestock in this region. The area is also a habitat for wildlife such as hares, foxes, wolves, toads, frogs, vultures, and the elusive Bonelli's eagle. The scant vegetation is comprised mainly of poplars, junipers, and scrub willows.
