An 9-day tour in Morocco, including a camel ride

Day 1- Casablanca - Marrakesh Upon your arrival at Casablanca airport, an English-speaking representative will welcome you and provide all the essential information for your stay in the city. You will be escorted to the Marrakesh hotel in a private vehicle, where assistance with check-in will be provided. The remainder of the day is yours to unwind and explore the city at leisure. Marrakech, a pivotal city in Morocco and one of the four imperial cities alongside Meknes, Fez, and Rabat, was established in 1062. It served as one of the nation's capitals and boasts the largest traditional market in the region, as well as one of the most vibrant squares both on the continent and globally. Day 2- Marrakesh Following breakfast, your exploration of Marrakech, the enchanting red city, will commence. The journey starts at the Menara Gardens, located on the city's periphery. This 14-hectare park is anchored by a vast pond dating back to the 12th century. The tour will proceed to the city center, where you'll behold the Koutoubia Minaret, an architectural sibling of Seville's Giralda. The excursion includes a visit to the 19th-century Bahia Palace. Lunch will be served at the hotel, after which the adventure continues to the mesmerizing Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. By day, the square buzzes with vendors offering orange juice, fruits, wicker baskets, souvenirs, sweets, jewelry, and the services of dentists, healers, and scribes. As dusk falls, the square transforms, illuminated by countless lights, offering a spectacle of sights and sounds. The afternoon will be yours to enjoy at leisure, culminating in a return to the hotel for the night's stay. Day 3- Marrakesh - Ouarzazate - Dades gorges Embark on an adventure from Marrakech to the majestic Erg Chebbi dunes, beginning with an early departure from your Marrakech lodging to the Dades Gorges, traversing the lofty High Atlas Mountains. Take a moment at the summit of Tizi-n-Tichka, Africa's apex, for a rejuvenating interlude. Here, you can take splendid photos and soak in the extraordinary views of the valleys and the Berber Villages that dot the mountainside. Next, take a detour along a picturesque route to the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famed for its role in several Hollywood films, such as Gladiator and Alexander, as well as parts of the acclaimed TV series, Game of Thrones. Post-lunch, delve into the kasbah with a local guide's expertise. In the later hours, proceed beyond Ouarzazate and the Skoura Oasis, pausing at the Kasbah Amredhil to revel in sweeping views among the palm groves. Continue along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs and through the charming Valley of the Roses, leading to a visit at Kalaat M’gouna. Here, discover a women’s cooperative that crafts rose-based cosmetics. Your day concludes at Dades Gorges, where a delightful dinner awaits, followed by a restful night in a welcoming hotel. Day 4- Dades gorges - Merzaouga Begin your day with a satisfying breakfast, followed by a guided stroll through the Boumalne Dades Valley to appreciate its stunning natural vistas. Afterward, make your way to the Toudgha Gorges for a delightful lunch setting. Your expedition continues as you traverse the picturesque Ziz Valley and Tafilalet Valley, culminating in the mesmerizing dunes of Merzouga. Here, a magical camel ride is prepared for you. Be captivated by the sunset painting the Erg Chebbi Dunes with warm hues, a vast expanse of untouched sand. As night falls, engage in a profound cultural exchange featuring storytelling, along with traditional Berber and Nomad melodies, all under a canopy of stars. Create lasting memories with your companions and guides, immersed in the tranquil Sahara Desert atmosphere, before settling into a comfortable Nomad tent at the dunes' edge for the night. Day 5- Merzouga - Fez As an early riser, seize the opportunity to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the dunes before making your way back to the hostel on camelback. Following breakfast, set off towards Rissani and Erfoud, then continue north to Errachidia, meandering through the Ziz Valley and Tafilalte Valley, famed for their lush palm groves and imposing kasbahs. Take a break for lunch in Midelt, cradled by the Middle Atlas Mountains, then cross the Tizi-n-Talremt pass, where you're greeted with picturesque vistas of verdant oaks and majestic cedar trees. Your desert odyssey culminates in Fes, where your driver awaits to escort you to your hotel. Day 6- Fez Today, step back into the Middle Ages with a visit to one of the world's most imperial, timeless, and preserved cities - Fez El Bali (Old Fez), the cultural heart of Morocco. Wander through some of the 9,000 narrow lanes, alleys, and souks (open-air markets) that form the labyrinth of the city's ancient quarter, established in the 8th century AD. The Imperial capital, once a hub of medieval learning, still houses the Karaouine, one of the oldest operational universities in the world. Adjacent stands the Attarine Medersa (Koranic college), a masterpiece of Hispano-Moorish architecture from the 14th century. Sightseeing continues at Nejjarine Square, featuring a stunning fountain adorned with intricate tile-work mosaics. The nearby Fondouq (Caravanserai) now serves as a museum showcasing woodworking artifacts. Visit also includes the Bouanania Medersa, which served as both an educational institution and a congregational mosque. The tour also encompasses Fez El Jedid (New Fez), erected by the Merinides Dynasty in the 13th century. Discover the Royal Palace, mosques, madrasas (Koranic schools), souks, and the city wall. Notably, Fez El Jedid houses the Mellah (Jewish quarter), offering a glimpse into Jewish architectural heritage. The old mansions' wrought iron decorated windows and exquisite carved wood balconies are particularly remarkable. The medieval Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, adds to the day's experience. Conclude the day with a return to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay. Day 7- Fez - Chefchaouen On Day 7, redirect your journey northward to the enchanting mountain town of Chefchaouen, known as the "blue city." Following a relaxed breakfast in Fes, set out for Chefchaouen. En route, take in the stunning vistas of the Rif Mountains and stop by traditional Berber villages. Once in Chefchaouen, meander through the town's slender alleys and behold the distinctive blue-painted buildings that earned the town its moniker. Explore the central square, the kasbah, and the mosque, and seize the chance to purchase traditional handicrafts and mementos in the local bazaars. Conclude your day with an overnight stay in a hotel or riad in Chefchaouen, savoring the serene and inviting ambiance of this delightful town. Day 8- Chefchaouen - Casablanca Following breakfast, set out for Rabat, Morocco's capital. Explore the iconic Hassan Tower, the minaret of an unfinished mosque that stands as a testament to the city's history. Then, journey along the Atlantic coastline to Casablanca, where the evening can be spent enjoying the local ambiance. Day 9- Casablanca - Airport After breakfast, proceed to Casablanca Airport to catch your departing flight.
